The Gulf of Maine and Jefferys Ledge provide us with a unique opportunity to observe the humpback, finback, and minke whales. Jefferys Ledge's cold, nutrient-rich waters support the largest population of whales on the East Coast. Often white-sided dolphins, harbor seals, and sunfish can also be sighted. For those who enjoy bird-watching, we often encounter pelagic birds such as Wilson's Storm Petrels, Greater and Sooty Shearwaters, Gannets, Fulmars, Terns, and many other species.
